As a handyman by trade I see lots of tools. And over the years I have learned the truthfulness in the motto: THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB.
Rotary tools, of whatever breed or purpose, have their limits. That is a given. But when we venture onto THEIR playing field, be prepared for a fast game. Battery or corded, rotary tools do in a jiff what their more cumbersome heavyweights do in an hour, saving you time, aggravation, and energy.
As you shop, however, keep in mind there is a big difference between “home” and “professional” models. Sometimes that difference won't be a concern and you can save $$ going to the lightweights. I'll try to remind you as you look around this site.
On this site rotary tools, by my definition, is not confined to Dremels and their counterparts. Here a rotary tool is one that provides a useful service but does it by a rotary motion. So you will see self-leveling lasers and other tools you may not have expected. That's all right, though. The person who is looking for a rotating laser (in contrast to a non-rotating one) will find it here (a good one, too). So everyone is happy.
Isn't that what it's all about, anyway?
After you get the hang of this site and get what you need, you might enjoy another site I have (since you most likely are a tool buff):
